terms and conditions
1. Introduction
These terms and conditions ("terms") apply to all coaching sessions booked with The Jetly Cricket Academy Limited ("Jetly Cricket Academy", "the academy", "we", "us" or "our"). By booking a session, whether as a parent, guardian, or player aged 18 or over, you agree to these terms.
Where a player is under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms on the player's behalf, and remains responsible for payment and for the matters covered in these terms.
These terms should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which covers how we collect and use personal information, including photography and medical information.
2. Sessions and Bookings
Sessions are booked by enquiry through our website. Once a suitable time is agreed, we will confirm the format, price, date and venue with you directly.
-
All sessions are one hour.
-
Sessions take place at the nets at Hnry Stadium, Wellington, subject to venue availability.
-
Session formats and pricing are as published on our website at the time of booking.
-
A first session is largely used to understand where a player is currently. Programmes are built from that point.
3. Fees and Payment
Fees are payable by bank transfer, on invoice.
-
Sessions are invoiced monthly, in arrears, to the parent, guardian, or adult player who made the booking.
-
Payment is due within [insert number] days of the invoice date.
-
Bank account details will be provided on the invoice.
If an invoice is not paid on time, we may pause future sessions until payment is received. We will always contact you directly before doing this.
4. Cancellations
4.1 If you need to cancel
We understand that plans change. If you cancel a booked session:
-
With 24 hours' notice or more, no fee applies.
-
With less than 24 hours' notice, a venue hire fee of $30 per person cancelling will apply, and will be included on your next invoice.
This fee reflects the cost of the venue booking, which we are unable to recover once it falls inside the 24-hour window.
4.2 If we need to cancel
Occasionally we may need to cancel or reschedule a session — for example, due to venue unavailability, weather, or coach illness. Where this happens:
-
We will let you know as soon as we reasonably can.
-
We will offer a replacement session at a suitable time, or a credit against your next invoice.
-
No fee applies to you in this situation.
5. Equipment
We provide shared training equipment, including balls, hurdles and cones, for use during sessions.
Players are responsible for bringing and maintaining their own personal cricket gear, such as bats, pads, gloves and helmets. The academy is not responsible for loss of, or damage to, a player's personal equipment while at a session or at the venue.
Confirm this reflects what you intended for personal gear — your note cut off here, so this section uses the standard position that personal equipment is the player's own responsibility. Let me know if you'd like this handled differently.
6. Liability and Insurance
Cricket coaching involves inherent physical risk, including the risk of injury from balls, bats, and running between wickets. While we take reasonable care to run sessions safely, coaching cannot remove this risk entirely, and by booking a session you accept that some risk of injury is a normal part of participating in cricket.
The Jetly Cricket Academy Limited is currently in the process of arranging public liability insurance. We will update these terms and notify families directly once that cover is confirmed and in place.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the academy's liability for any loss, damage, or injury arising from a coaching session is limited to matters directly caused by our negligence. We are not liable for injury or loss arising from ordinary participation in cricket, or from circumstances outside our reasonable control.
This section needs a lawyer's review specifically. Liability wording, and how it is affected by insurance not yet being in place, should be confirmed before publishing rather than relied on as written.
7. Health and Medical Information
Before a player's first session, we ask for medical information, including any conditions, allergies or medication, and an emergency contact. This helps us run sessions safely. This information is collected and used as described in our Privacy Policy.
Please let us know as soon as possible if a player's medical information changes.
8. Conduct
We want every session to be a positive environment for everyone involved. We may end coaching with a player, or decline to continue a booking, where we reasonably believe it is necessary — for example, due to conduct that affects the safety or experience of others, or persistent non-payment. Where reasonably possible, we will discuss any concerns with you directly before this happens.
9. Photography, Video and Privacy
Where consent has been given, we may take photographs or video of sessions for use on our website and social media. This is covered in full in our Privacy Policy, including how to withdraw consent or request that existing content be taken down.
10. Age and Parental Responsibility
Our sessions are open to players aged 7 to 25. Where a player is under 18, a parent or guardian must:
-
Agree to these terms on the player's behalf;
-
Provide accurate medical and emergency contact information; and
-
Remain responsible for payment of fees.
Parents and guardians are welcome to stay and watch sessions, and many do. There are always two adults present during coaching.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time, for example as our services or policies change. The current version will always be available on our website, with the date it was last updated shown at the top.
12. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand, and any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the Wellington courts.
